On St. Valentine's Day, which is so fond of celebrating children and young people, the Millennium Kyiv Gymnasium № 318 hosted a social and artistic event, during which children threw a bridge between the three most valuable values of today: Peace, Creativity and Love.
The stock was preceded by an interregional expert meeting within the framework of the project "War and Peace: Participation of Children in Peacekeeping", which was supported by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the German Embassy in Ukraine.
The West marks the deployment of a peacekeeping movement among children who, along with adults, are suffering from a military conflict, passing serious events through their hearts and striving not to stay away from what is happening in the east of our country. He was initiated by the Kyiv School of Equal Opportunities and the Divya NGO jointly with the Kyiv City Family and Children's Service, the Kyiv City Family Center "Family House". The event was attended by representatives of the Kyiv City Center for Social Services for Family, Children and Youth, NGO "Federation of Women for Peace in the World", the National Women's Council of Ukraine, the "Family Affairs" Publishing House and partner NGOs from the Dnipro, Melitopol, Mariupol, Konstantinovka, Kramatorsk, Zolotonoshi.
· How to approach the world without waiting for the end of the war?
· How to reach understanding between parts of Ukrainian society with different points of view and positions? How to prevent conflicts within the community? How to reach agreement?
· How to involve as many children as possible in peacekeeping?
These issues were in the field of discussion of the participants of the action in order to better understanding their main tasks, mechanisms for solving issues of equality and justice, their own participation in peacekeeping processes, etc. ...
The gymnasium collective is already actively involved in helping ATO participants, immigrants from the east, their under-found - kindergartens and schools in the zone of military conflict ... This work involves teachers and parents, including mothers of immigrant children who are studying in This school In order to truly understand what such peacemaking is today and in what forms it manifests, then there will be trainings, meetings with experts, and dialogues.
The urgency of the event is dictated by the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women. Peace. Security ", in pursuance of which the relevant National Action Plan was adopted in Ukraine last year. Children will formulate proposals for specific actions of their own to implement the provisions of this resolution.
Today, the potential of children in peacekeeping is underestimated. The children's peacekeeping action is the start of a project that will take place in 2017 in Kyiv, as well as in five regions of Ukraine.
The theater of the School of Equal Opportunities by the forces of the students of the specialized school number 187, which also participated in the peacekeeping children's movement, showed the forum-performance "The evening that changed everything". The format of the presentation involves discussing and seeking out a crisis situation for the main character. The performance by the students of the theater department, Mykola Bilkovsky and Volodymyr Kulyak, makes the audience feel the "breath" of the war in peaceful Kyiv and reflect on the tragedies that our citizens, especially women and girls, often face in the Donbass. They are today called internally displaced persons (VPO), they live next to us and need our warmth, love and understanding.
